HyGo Pack Life

Our Story

Water has been bottled at our site in Borrisoleigh since the 1980s. In 1984, a local diviner identified the natural spring water source that still supplies us today. The exceptional quality of this source led to it becoming Ireland’s first certified Natural Spring Water.

Following closure of the site by the previous owners in 2016, a group of local investors and industry professionals came together to reopen the facility, establishing Borrisoleigh Bottling Ltd in 2018. With strong support from the local community and the expertise of many former employees, production recommenced and the business began a new chapter.
By 2019, the company had returned to market with bottled water products under the Oscar Wilde® and Global Hydrate® brands. However, from the outset, sustainability was central to the company’s vision.

Recognising the need for more sustainable packaging solutions, BBL invested in carton technology and introduced Tetra Top® packaging, significantly reducing the use of fossil-based plastics.

In 2022 the company turned off its PET/plastic bottle capability which had been in place when the site was acquired , decommissioning and removing the line entirely, evidence to its commitment to deliver product in more sustainable packaging.

Today, HyGo® represents the next generation of Irish hydration. Drawn from deep beneath the rolling hills of Tipperary, HyGo natural spring water is available in both 500ml and 330ml Carton format, combining premium Irish water with more sustainable packaging solutions. The brand reflects our belief that great hydration should be natural, convenient and environmentally responsible.

Alongside HyGo®, the company continues to develop its W.B. Yeats® range while also providing contract packaging services for a number of customers.
Throughout our journey, one thing has remained constant: our connection to Borrisoleigh and the surrounding community. Many members of our team have long associations with the site, and as the business has grown, it has continued to provide valuable employment and investment within the local rural economy.

From a historic Irish water source to a modern, sustainable drinks business, our ambition remains simple: to produce exceptional natural spring water while protecting the environment and supporting our community.
